frank gibson photography (our latest news!)

Well, hey everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's always exciting to look at our calendar and anticipate the array of weddings that we are going to celebrate as the year unfolds.  Each one is so uniquely different and special.

We're always so amazed and delighted at how creative and flexible our brides are! Come rain (lots of it), or shine - never a dull moment and always a laugh or two!  That's what makes our job so much fun!

If you have any questions, please feel free to call and chat.. We also love to stay connected and in touch with our former brides and grooms too, so, if that's you stopping by, we hope you'll drop us a line and tell us what you've been up to!

Blessings!

Frank and Wendy

real life weddings ... the story of your day

emily and aaron

We love giving a glimpse into our weddings through our blog and often have a hard time trying to decide just which pictures to use to tell the story (it’s hard to choose!)  Well…after I had picked out MY favorites and Frank had picked out HIS, we had to laugh ~ we had hundreds!  Okay, that wasn’t going to work for a ‘quick’ blog post for Emily and Aaron ~ so…the images below are our compromise… we left quite a few on the blog cutting room floor…so sad….but, what a SUPER, AWESOME DAY!!!    Emily and Aaron were so much fun!   Enjoy!  :)

We started the day off at the Hemlock Cottage at one of our favorite wedding venues, Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris.   Emily and her bridesmaids were having such a fun, relaxed time getting their hair and make-up done.  Kelli Dantzler (who was also a bridesmaid) did Emily’s hair (gorgeous!) and Michelle Stokkeland of Bob Steele Salon did a fabulous job with makeup.     Emily looked absolutely beautiful in her Allure gown from Sweet Elegance in Decatur.

Emily’s dad stopped by for his first look at Emily in her wedding gown…

Emily and her fabulous bridesmaids get the official award for being the best sports EVER in the face of imminent danger ~ freezing to death!!  Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating just a little bit (but not too much!)  It WAS FREEZING!  (and the wind…) But, in the pictures, everyone looks perfectly fine.  Now, that’s what we call troopers!  They were all smiles and laughter … ready to make the most of whatever came their way.  That made our job easy!   (Bridesmaid dresses by J. Crew ~ flowers designed and created by Mary Ann of Occasions Florist.)

Emily and Aaron decided to see each other before the ceremony and chose the Brasstown Stables as their meeting place.

What could be more special than a SURPRISE song from your bridesmaids during the ceremony?! :)

The guys decided they wanted to do a jumping shot…

see how they had done…

and try it one more time…

Perfection!  Oh yeah!

The scrumptious wedding cake was designed and created by Melissa Roberts of Melissa’s Custom Cakes and Goodies.

The reception was held at the beautiful, open-air, Sunset Pavilion overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Thank you Emily and Aaron!! What a joy and delight to be a part of your day ~ Congratulations and hugs!!

rebekah and hunter

Rebekah and Hunter are getting married the end of May (wow, that’s just around the corner) and we’re so excited!  We’ve known Rebekah and her family forever and are blessed to call them friends!  We can’t wait until next month!  :)

lindsey and mike

Lindsey and Mike’s wedding last Saturday was so much FUN!   It was another perfect spring day with all it’s new-leaf color, blue sky, and light, puffy clouds ~ the perfect backdrop for such a special couple… enjoy!

Lindsey and her bridesmaids were such good sports ~ the wind was really blowing but no one worried about flying strands of hair ~ and those smiles!

And, then there were the guys… :) We never ask our wedding parties to ‘do’ anything other than what they would ‘normally’ do SO, this is what they ‘normally’ do!!  JUMP! I think they even told Frank they had been practicing (okay, maybe Mark said that…)  And, just have FUN.  We loved that!

Emilie and Madeleine were such wonderful helpers ~ the perfect flower girls!

Their lovely wedding ceremony was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta and officiated by Father John Walsh.

After the ceremony, there was a short trolley ride :) to the reception at the Whitlock Inn.

And yes! More JUMPING!!  :) hey, there’s lots to celebrate!

The 2nd Coming Band was awesome and kept everyone rocking out on the dance floor!

thanks Lindsey and Mike!!!   what fun!!!!

kristen and matt

Do you remember that beautiful, pinch-yourself-summer-like Saturday we had recently?  Well, that was Kristen and Matt’s wedding day and it was absolutely PERFECT!  After the cold and snow of winter, it was such a delight to have this touch of spring ~sunny and warm with just a slight breeze … and, of course, they were so relaxed and easy going ~ ready to celebrate their special day ~ what more could we ask for?!

The ceremony was held at the historic Peachtree Christian Church in downtown Atlanta ~ it has one of the prettiest bridal rooms in the city and what a magnificent sanctuary!

Kristen’s little nephew, Jackson, was the cutest ring bearer and did a great job of walking down the aisle with his Mommy. :)

After a short trolley ride over to Park Tavern at Piedmont Park, Kristen and Matt and the wedding party wanted to grab a few quick shots with the Atlanta skyline.  The park was packed with people who gave them a round of applause and many hearty congratulations!

Tim Tyler (on the keyboard) and Lane Wood (guitar) were awesome and kept the dance floor rocking!

Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS Kristen and Matt!  What a fabulous day ~hugs to you both!

happy valentine’s day!

Wishing each of you a Valentine’s Day filled with LOVE! :-)
