It has to be extra, extra, special! So, when our dear friends, Katie and Amy announced the official launch of their new website and online store, featuring all of their beautiful creations, we couldn’t wait to tell you about it!

I know that Frank and I have often said how blessed we are to have the neatest brides and grooms – they’re all so special and we never take that for granted! But, I just have to BRAG on Elizabeth and Tom just a bit more than usual so hang with me here! We’ve known Elizabeth for a long time through our kids’ basketball league (her terrific Dad was their coach) and it was always a treat whenever our paths would cross along the way. So, when she called at the end of October to let us know she was getting married, we were thrilled and Frank asked her the usual question – “Great! When is your wedding date?” Elizabeth’s reply – “In just a few weeks!” What!? Most brides need at least 6 months to work through all the details!!! But, when you’re as creative and flexible as Elizabeth and Tom and have such wonderful support from your family, this is what happens:

Elizabeth and Tom’s wedding day story began when Tom’s Great-Aunt Corinne wanted to give her beautiful farmhouse and property to Tom and Elizabeth as they were making plans to get married in the spring. Aunt Corinne’s health had been declining so she was going to live in an assisted living home. Once Tom proposed, he and Elizabeth started to wonder if Aunt Corinne would be in good enough health to attend their wedding if they waited until Spring….So, why not just be SURE she could attend by getting married NOW? Plans were underway, (photographer lined up – check!
) and then all the wedding ideas and details began to take shape…

Elizabeth (along with her mom, sister-in-law, Dad, and others), MADE her bouquet and Tom’s boutonniere! Tom’s first flower to Elizabeth was a paper rose so what could be more fitting than a paper bouquet? It’s beautiful!

They decided to see each other before the ceremony ~ right next to the barn where Tom proposed… how cute is this?!

Even this barn is extra special! Aunt Corinne and her late husband, Great-Uncle Joe built this barn together 51 years ago! All of the quilts covering the hay bale seats were hand-made by family members ~ Tom and Elizabeth nailed treasures into a time capsule box – to be opened years from now ~ every detail was a precious piece of history and love…

Congratulations and blessings to Elizabeth and Tom!!!
(Elizabeth says many thanks go to Hobby Lobby too!)
