frank gibson photography (our latest news!)

Hi Everyone!  Happy New Year! We've been having such a great time getting to know all of our couples and seeing their wedding plans unfold.  It's a joy and privilege to be a part of such a special time.

We're always amazed and delighted at how creative and flexible our brides are - this makes for those super fun, unexpected images!  Come rain (lots of it), or shine - never a dull moment and always a laugh or two!  That's what makes our job so much fun - we love the joy of it ALL!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you have any questions, please feel free to call and chat.. We also love to stay connected and in touch with our former brides and grooms so, if that's you stopping by, we hope you'll drop us a line and tell us what you've been up to!

Blessings!

Frank and Wendy

real life weddings ... the story of your day

favorite things! olive and jane!

It is with GREAT delight that I post our newest FAVORITE THING ~ Olive and Jane Millinery!     I know it’s been a while since we’ve posted a ‘Favorite Thing’ but that’s because we’re choosy!  It has to be extra, extra, special!   So, when our dear friends, Katie and Amy announced the official launch of their new website and online store, featuring all of  their beautiful creations, we couldn’t wait to tell you about it!

A girl should be two things: Classy and Fabulous.   Coco Chanel

Katie and Amy have designed a gorgeous line of headpieces featuring: fascinators, cocktail hats, and chapeaus.  Each of their creations is a work of art and SO pretty ~ the perfect accessory for our brides and bridesmaids, or for anyone wanting that extra special touch of femininity and romance.

Be sure to hurry over to Olive and Jane’s BLOG where they are having a Fascinator giveaway tomorrow (Friday February, 17th)  at 10 pm EST!  To be entered in the drawing simply leave a post in their comment section with your name and on which form of social media you helped share the love for Olive and Jane.

We love you Katie and Amy! Congratulations on Olive and Jane!

caitlin and stig

Everything was all frosty snowflakes and sparkly magic as Caitlin and Stig celebrated their fabulous wedding atop Ventanas in downtown Atlanta.  And, despite the cold and wind, Caitlin and Stig were great sports as we ventured up to the helipad on the top of Park Pavilion building for some quick pics!  So cool!   What a wonderful evening of fun!  Enjoy!

Congratulations to Caitlin and Stig!

elizabeth and tom

I know that Frank and I have often said how blessed we are to have the neatest brides and grooms – they’re all so special and we never take that for granted!  But, I just have to BRAG on Elizabeth and Tom just a bit more than usual so hang with me here!  We’ve known Elizabeth for a long time through our kids’ basketball league (her terrific Dad was their coach) and it was always a treat whenever our paths would cross along the way.  So, when she called at the end of October to let us know she was getting married, we were thrilled and Frank asked her the usual question – “Great!  When is your wedding date?”  Elizabeth’s reply – “In just a few weeks!” What!?  Most brides need at least 6 months to work through all the details!!!  But, when you’re as creative and flexible as Elizabeth and Tom and have such wonderful support from your family, this is what happens:

Elizabeth and Tom’s wedding day story began when Tom’s Great-Aunt Corinne wanted to give her beautiful farmhouse and property to Tom and Elizabeth as they were making plans to get married in the spring.  Aunt Corinne’s health had been declining so she was going to live in an assisted living home.  Once Tom proposed, he and Elizabeth started to wonder if  Aunt Corinne would be in good enough health to attend their wedding if they waited until Spring….So, why not just be SURE she could attend by getting married NOW?  Plans were underway, (photographer lined up – check! :D ) and then all the wedding ideas and details began to take shape…

Elizabeth (along with her mom, sister-in-law, Dad, and others), MADE her bouquet and Tom’s boutonniere!  Tom’s first flower to Elizabeth was a paper rose so what could be more fitting than a paper bouquet?  It’s beautiful!

They decided to see each other before the ceremony ~ right next to the barn where Tom proposed… how cute is this?!

Even this barn is extra special!  Aunt Corinne and her late husband, Great-Uncle Joe built this barn together 51 years ago!  All of the quilts covering the hay bale seats were hand-made by family members ~ Tom and Elizabeth nailed treasures into a time capsule box – to be opened years from now ~ every detail was a precious piece of history and love…

Congratulations and blessings to Elizabeth and Tom!!!

(Elizabeth says many thanks go to Hobby Lobby too!)  :D
