frank gibson photography (our latest news!)

Well, hey everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's always exciting to look at our calendar and anticipate the array of weddings that we are going to celebrate as the year unfolds.  Each one is so uniquely different and special.

We're always so amazed and delighted at how creative and flexible our brides are! Come rain (lots of it), or shine - never a dull moment and always a laugh or two!  That's what makes our job so much fun!

If you have any questions, please feel free to call and chat.. We also love to stay connected and in touch with our former brides and grooms too, so, if that's you stopping by, we hope you'll drop us a line and tell us what you've been up to!

Blessings!

Frank and Wendy

real life weddings ... the story of your day

michaela and patrick

Michaela and Patrick’s lovely wedding was our last for 2010 and what a wonderful way to end the year!  The Foundry at Puritan Mill was so impressive with it’s warehouse style brick walls and warm light streaming through the tall industrial-size windows ~ the perfect backdrop for their wedding ceremony and reception.  Ann White of Ann White Weddings did a fantastic job of keeping things in order and running smoothly!  And, of course, Michaela looked absolutely beautiful!  Enjoy!

Michaela’s little sister, Grace, was the sweetest flower girl.  I loved the intensity and patience she had as she put on her jewelry …it had to be just right …

There were so many poignant moments on this wedding day but one of our favorites was seeing Michaela’s dad and Patrick’s dad officiate their ceremony ~ it doesn’t get any more special than that …

Congratulations Michaela and Patrick!!  Many blessings to you both!

favorite things ~ details!

As I was browsing for Valentine ideas, I just happened upon the most fabulous website for ANYONE planning a wedding and reception!  I was so excited I just had to share!  Save On Crafts is FULL of ideas and supplies ~ perfect for brides, wedding planners, florists, or anyone hosting an event or celebration ~ and the prices are wonderful too!  Now is the time that so many of our couples are in the beginning stages of planning their wedding day details and it’s so much fun to see how all of their ideas come together!  Here are a just a few of my favorite things:

What could be more elegant than a filigree wrap for your wedding cake or cupcake tree?!  OR, these 8 hour tealight lamps ~ so pretty!

And, wouldn’t these little French wire candle lanterns be lovely hanging from a garden tree or lamp stand on a summer evening?  The clear milk jugs in the wire basket are just waiting to be filled with wildflowers to grace a reception table … this website is a dreamer’s delight!    …… (especially on these blustery winter days)   …..     :-)     Have fun planning!

jenny and patrick

Jenny and Patrick’s wedding at the Chimneys in Big Canoe couldn’t have been any prettier or more romantic.  It was the weekend before Christmas and North Georgia had just crawled out from it’s first great WINTER blast.  But, the cozy fire in the reception hall, glowing candles, and  fresh greenery adorning the mantles, beckoned guests inside to celebrate this wonderful evening!  We loved all of Jenny’s creative ideas ~ tiny birds perched on sparkling branches on their snowy-white cake, sugared ‘icicle’ favors hung from a small branch tree, bowls of cream colored almonds and candies filled huge glass bowls, and large fresh moss topiary balls hung from the chandeliers.  And, Jenny looked absolutely gorgeous!  Patrick’s smiles said it all … Enjoy! Enjoy!

Sweet Caroline’s Cakes created this beautiful cake!

Congratulations Jenny and Patrick!  Wishing you the greatest JOY!

jenny and patrick

While Frank is busily working on the remaining images from Jenny and Patrick’s end of December wedding, I thought I would take a minute to post a few of their engagement pictures.  Jenny and Patrick live out of town so we were excited when they were able to squeeze in the time for a quick shoot over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  Jenny is such a natural in front of the camera and Patrick a more-than-willing participant!   And, aren’t their dogs adorable?!

Thanks Jenny and Patrick!  Stay tuned for the Wedding Photos!

cathryn and sean

We’ve been so excited to post Cathryn and Sean’s wedding images!  Not only because their wedding was spectacular but because they’ve waited so patiently to get a sneak peek!  December weddings are always full of anticipation and beauty and theirs was no exception.  It was super cold (do you remember that week in mid-December before our first winter ice blast?) but they were such great sports – willing to go OUTSIDE to get that natural light and braving the elements with nothing but smiles.  ****  We started the day off with wonderful ‘getting ready’ shots of Cathryn and her bridesmaids at the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown and then headed over to the beautiful  All Saints Episcopal Church for the ceremony.  Cathryn looked so lovely … and her SMILE!!    :-)   Enjoy!!

The ‘rules’ at All Saints forbid the photographer to enter the sanctuary and the doors are immediately CLOSED  once the bride enters with her father -  NO PICTURES.   NO EXCEPTIONS.    PERIOD.    So, Frank shot these images through THE CRACK IN THE CLOSED DOORS (under the ever-watchful eyes of the church ladies).  We were thrilled to get these shots!  :-)

Their fabulous reception was held at Greystone at Piedmont Park and every detail was exquisite.   Soiree Catering and Events did a wonderful job of keeping everything organized and lovely!

And, talk about FUN!!  Nothing could have been ‘cooler’ than the sounds of Yacht Rock Revue!  They were AWESOME!

Before the evening send off, guests were greeted at the door with steaming hot Krystal Burgers ~ everyone was tempted to grab a few before heading out into the cold!

Thank you Cathryn and Sean!!  What a wonderful day!!
