This wedding season seems to be ZOOMING by ~ it’s hard to believe we’re half way through 2011 and July is just around the corner!  Kate and Matt’s late-May wedding was just what you would hope for!  A perfect day with just the right amount of sun and breeze, and a beautiful bride with her handsome groom in uniform.  Matt is a U.S. Marine and together they were such an elegant couple!  (thank you Matt for serving our country)   Their wedding ceremony was held at the lovely Catholic Shrine in downtown Atlanta.  Enjoy!

We loved the Arch of Swords (Sabers) Ceremony immediately following the wedding ceremony.  It is traditional, as the couple recesses through the arch of swords, that the last two men to make up the arch lower their swords in front of the couple, detaining them momentarily, while the sword bearer on the right, with his sword, gives the bride a gentle “swat” on the rump and utters, “Welcome to the Marines!”  I’m not sure how ‘gentle’ Kate’s swat was (ouch!) but she was a great sport and we all got a good laugh! :-)

The reception was held in Park Tavern’s light-filled Piedmont Room.  As always, it was so much fun having Tijen of Creme Events to keep the day running smoothly.  (thanks Tijen!)  And, all of the lovely flowers were designed and created by Ginger Bradshaw of Ginger Lily Events.

Thank  you Kate and Matt!  Blessings and Congratulations!!
